Joining the Team
Any student at Jesuit High School, New Orleans, in good standing, is elligible for the Lacrosse Team. This is a very physical contact sport. A player must expect to be challenged physically and to play a sport with all the contact of grid iron football, but you also have a stick!
Players must not be discipline problems, or failing in any of their classes and must be certified to play by a physician.
A player must be aware that this team requires commitment to practice, training individual skills outside of practice, summer training, lifting, etc, and every weekend January - first May weekend, with the exception of Mardi Gras weekend and Easter weekend.
The process is to contact the head coach, Mike Brantley; see contact page.
You'll need the following: see forms tab
1. Registration form
2. Parent Release Form
3. Medical History Form (physical) signed by a doctor - on file with the Athletic Director. Give this to coach and he'll file.
4. A check for team fees of $225 made out to Jesuit High School.
5. An Apparel Order Form with a check made out to Blue Jay Lax. There are required items, as well as an assortment of other team gear you'll like.
6. Read the Team Handbook and learn the team playbook.
Players must display a high level of commitment to the team. Great teams do not become great by players not working hard - together. Lacrosse is fast, very fast. Players must know each other and have lots of training time together.
If you have questions - contact any Coach or player.
